To eliminate chronic kidney disease and diabetes in Australia.
To raise funds in support of medical research aimed at developing new therapies to enhance organ transplantation, to treat diabetes and kidney disease and ultimately eliminate these diseases as two of the fastest growing chronic conditions in Australia and around the world.
About Kidney, Transplant & Diabetes Research Australia
As the fastest growing chronic health problem in this country Diabetes affects 4% of the population or just over 1 million Australians. Chronic kidney disease is also on the rise affecting 1 in 10 Australian’s. But as a silent disease only a few will know they have it.
Kidney, Transplant & Diabetes Research Australia (KTDRA) is proud to support ground-breaking translational medical research that is helping to improve the lives of our family and friends suffering with these diseases. Our aim is simple – it is to reduce and ultimately eliminate the high incidence of these chronic diseases in Australia and around the world.
By supporting vital clinical and laboratory research we are helping to drive better understanding of the diseases as well as take a leading role in the development and delivery of more effective therapies and improved care to patients with kidney disease, diabetes and those requiring organ transplantation.
With your support we can make even bigger strides in the fight against these chronic, life changing and often life limiting diseases and provide better health and wellbeing for all in our community.
Your support makes a difference
For every $1 you donate, we provide over $5 in grants to help eliminate diabetes and kidney disease. This is because we are part of The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group. Our administration costs are covered by THRF’s commercial business activities (such as its lottery program), which also boosts our funds to research and patient care each year. You can feel proud knowing your donation makes an even bigger impact to the health and wellbeing of your community.
